Combat Combat Sports Like Never Before

Mixed martial arts is a full-contact combat sport based on striking, grappling and ground fighting, incorporating techniques from various combat sports from around the world. Sometimes referred to as cage fighting, no holds barred, and ultimate fighting, and originally referred to as Vale Tudo.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art and combat sport based on ground fighting and submission holds. BJJ focuses on the skill of taking an opponent to the ground, controlling one’s opponent, gaining a dominant position, and using several techniques to force them into submission via joint locks or chokeholds.

Judo, the “gentle way” is a system of unarmed combat, modern Japanese martial art and Olympic sport consisting of a series and technical throws and grounded submissions using the Judogi! Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu finds its birth in Judo!

Amateur wrestling as a variant of wrestling is a standalone combat sport trained at high levels or as a supplement to other combat sports. There are two international wrestling styles performed in the Olympic Games: freestyle and Greco-Roman. Both styles are under the supervision of the United World Wrestling.

Boxing is a combat sport in which two people, usually wearing protective gloves and other protective equipment such as hand wraps and mouthguards, throw punches at each other for a predetermined amount of time in a boxing ring. Also called the sweet science, there is a very technical side to this Olympic sport!

Yoga is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India and aim to control (yoke) and still the mind, recognizing a detached witness-consciousness untouched by the mind (Chitta) and mundane suffering (Duḥkha). There is a wide variety of schools of yoga, practices, and goals in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism and traditional and modern yoga is practiced worldwide.

b

Recreational

For those members who would like to simply get fit and in shape while learning a combat sport for either self-defence purposes or as an outlet from the everyday mundane, then our classes are for you too. There is no pressure to compete, take every session at your pace and have fun!

b

Group classes

All our classes are aimed at group sessions. Training in groups gives the member a chance to work with another person which is vital in combat sport! Drills and sparring with a partner are essential building blocks to better skill sets! We do also offer private one on one or group sessions!

b

Competitive

For the athletes who would like to compete we encourage taking up more than one discipline and training as often as possible. We have a great team of athletes and we have made champions. Athletes will compete as often as possible under close watch of the coaches!

B

EVALUATIONS AND GRADING

All members will be evaluated at some point during their training by their coach/coaches. Evaluations will bring to the surface which aspects of your game have improved and which need improvement! Over the last few years MMA has gone through some major changes all thanks to the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation who now brought a grading system using belt colours much like other martial arts. If you are training MMA, BJJ or Judo you will go through a series of gradings and start climbing that ladder to higher skill levels!

Self Defense

Great self discipline and awareness to self defense and a whole lot more from starter classes to that of the more experienced or simply if you wish to look into taking up a great form of exercising to enhance your personal experience or simply to exercise to reach goals. All ages are welcome and it's just such a great new experience for kids and simply just a complete load of FUN. Everyone should give Valhalla MMA a try at least as you are definitely going to want to come back.
